Had a meal here in Feb 2013.
Myself and my wife. Very busy and they basically could not cope,the service was appalling and some customers were telling others arriving they would be better off else where. The food was very average and at the end to make matters worse i was over charged $10.
Cant EVER seeing myself going there again or recommending it to anyone.
After reading the review below I am envious. I never even got to taste the food ? My wife as a surprise booked a dinner reservation for my birthday for a Tuesday night at 8pm. We decided to walk to the restaurant, pick up a bottle of wine on the way and then head to the restaurant. To our initial shock and then anger, the restaurant was closed !!! The signage on the front window clearly states Mon closed, Tue to Sun open from 2pm to 9pm. There is a smaller note on the front window which states under new management so possibly something has changed with this restaurant but very disappointed as we were trying to support local businesses by eating in Umina. Be wary of any bookings you make at this restaurant as their website states 'Open 7 days a week 9am to 9.30pm' ...yeah right !! My wife even tried ringing the following day (a Wednesday) to try to speak to a manager and unfortunately got a lady who did not speak english and then hung up on my wife !! Overall ...read more
I apologize about our mistake of opening hours. Due to under new management that we have unable to access the flametree's website anymore to edit the opening hours. Further, on that day the new dishes and menu update that we need to close to make sure all foods in menu go right and real special foods are impressed to client. As we are just new to here, I hope that you would understand and ignore our mistake, we will try to improve and grow up...1 month were not enough for our operation go right, please accept my apologize and give a chance to serve you a good dinner. Tonight we were looking forward to trying the new Vietnamese in umina and we weren't disappointed. We are Sydney based but come up to the coast often and had been meaning to try this for a while.
