After telling Gary my budget was $650 MAX, he called me to tell me I owed $952...I find this completely unprofessional, his excuse was "I 'thought' you said $750 and I did tell you it might be $100 over or under, just your luck" Even that doesn't add up! Bit of advice mate- as an experienced mechanic you should be giving out a quote and sticking to it. None of this "just your luck"...I wonder how many people are lucky enough for it to be under?? Managed to get him to knock 200 bucks off the price and i'm satisfied with the way the van is running now. Potential to be a great garage if the pricing structure was changed.
Just your luck you came in to garys4cars you asked for Caviar with Dom Perignon but with your MacDonald budget. We still repaired your vehicle correctly.
I never challenged your standard of workmanship, however a spring on one of the rear brake drums you 'repaired' came off and began grinding 500ks after the work was carried out. My point is that you don't agree to a price and charge more...it's unethical and unprofessional.
I really wish that I'd read these reviews before going to this mechanic. Was recommended by a colleague who said that they were expensive but thorough. My car's service totaled $1500 and is the most that I've ever paid anywhere. The labour costs were exorbitant in my opinion and small things were overlooked such as the replacement of wiper blades. Front brakes were replaced and a new battery put in but the car began to sound rattly after about a week. Also, I like my car returned to me having been given a clean as well. For that money they should definitely have given it a wash.
By the last comment of washing your car sounds like you are a unappreciative and ungrateful to our professionalism and skills we performed on your vehicle.
Unless you want to get completely ripped off when servicing your car DO NOT use this mechanic!
I was charged $565 for labour on a service and addition $428 for parts consisting of oil,oil filter, top up fluids, 1 break light, 4 spark plugs, air cleaner, front pads and break fluid.
I wished i had read these reviews earlier.
Stay completley away from this mechanic.
garys4cars discussed full log book servicing what was entailed and how much the fees was in writing by quote. Customer signed the job card and agreed for the work to go ahead.
I had a quote for full service from this mechanic at $265. I asked that they quote any other
work to me before doing it. No calls, and I turned up to find a my bill was hundreds of dollars higher, with clearly excessive charges for spark plugs and parts.
Please for your own good stay away from this place.
