Ghermez Cupcakes

Few can resist the naughty temptation of a delightfully frosted gourmet cupcake. The past 12 months has seen a boom in cupcake outlets throughout the CBD but the winning ticket for me with Ghermez is the rotation of flavours. Each visit you can try something new such as my personal favourite, Red Velvet or Carrot or Mango or one of each. For the once sugar addicts turned health conscious there is the mini collection to choose from or for a special occasion or function talk to the team about personalisation. Whether purchased by the dozen or one sneaky little cupcake to eradicate the 4pm slump, Ghermez will always deliver :)

This place is downright brilliant. They have about 20 flavours of cupcakes in total, 12 of which you can buy on any given day they do a rotating roster type of thing, which basically for me means a new reason to visit every day. The awesome window displays (recently they've done special editions for Mardi Gras, Valentine's Day and Christmas) suck me in every time. The lemon, dulce de leche (pretty much condensed milk flavour) and peanut butter chocolate are all top picks for me, but I hear the pistachio and rose and sticky date ones are pretty amazing too. The regular sized ones are good if you're just getting one, but the mini ones are so cute and great to buy a dozen of for parties and gifts as the girls can put together a mixed dozen and they look amazing all put together. Plus they're smaller, so you can try more flavours. Both sizes work out cheaper by the dozen so you may as well just go nuts.

Sydney is a fickle mistress, and usually she moves quickly to the next shiny new thing. However, in a break with these easy-come-easy-go infatuations, we've remained true to our devotion to tasty cake morsels covered in exotic frosting. Cupcakes are a food fad that just won't die. Thank goodness for that!

The selection is rotated during the week for ultimate variety, you can purchase individual cupcakes - or go all out, and buy by the dozen for more economy. There's a mini cupcake for the portion control conscious, and by jingos - they even deliver!
