Gladstone Hotel

I’m not sure whether the term country pub is appropriate for this place because I’m not entirely sure whether you can actually classify Stockton as being in the country, or simply a suburb of Newcastle. Anyway, I was rather pleasantly surprised when I wandered in here for a drink. Okay, I’m not entirely sure what it was that I was expecting in here, but it turned out that this pub was in fact really, really nice. Okay, they had a large beer garden, friendly staff, and even a couple of nice beers on tap as well, but in a way I simply found the place charming. It had a nice rustic feel about it, but had enough to appeal to a city person like me.
