Glenferrie Hotel

This was the second pub I visited in Glenferrie (or Hawthorn if you will). While the first pub felt more like a semi-classy bar, this place simply felt like your typical pub, or more appropriately your typical, inner-city Melbourne pub, though it isn’t anywhere near as cool as the pubs that happen to be up my end of town (that is to the north). Okay, there aren’t any pokies, or none that I could see, or even remember, which is a bonus, however the pub itself really didn’t stand out all that much. In fact it felt rather plain, more like a restaurant that has no problems with you coming in and ordering a beer. While they do have an outdoor area, it is basically a smoker’s cage as opposed to a beer garden. As a pub it’s okay, but not fantastic.

Good range of beers on tap. Came here on a Friday night, probably not the best time to expect good customer service as there were abrupt. Ordered a Parma and chips, big portion and average pub pricing.

Drinks are overpriced. Wait staff can be abrupt. Get's very busy and noisy on a Friday night. The food is ok though.

Good Pub. Plenty of beer on tap and I didn't have to wait long to get them. Parma is well sized and pretty good.

Always reliable for a good feed. Also love the big range of on-tap beers and ciders to choose from!
