Sitting in the coffee shop on a Thursday afternoon, I thought it would be a bit busier as people caffeine up for the late night shopping. Instead this Gloria Jeans is empty and I know why.
After one Barrister took my order, she has joined her friend on Facebook on the cafe computer, laughing and giggling away in a foreign language. When I ask 10 minutes later where my latte is (tired of flicking through the Chinese magazines on offer), I get a death stare which would make Anjelica Huston proud.
Eventually another 10 minutes goes by and I get my cold latte. Let's say I can see why all the other retailers fill the other coffee shops in Birkenhead Point, as this one has got to be close to the worse Gloria Jeans or Cafe I have ever ever been too.
It's sad as I love the Norwest and Sutherland Gloria Jeans, which are part of my daily routine. During the 25minutes I took to get my coffee, I was the only customer.
Still the second worse Gloria Jeans after Chatswood in Australia. Awful would be a complement to this Gloria Jeans who's staff spend most of their time on facebook and their phones rather than make coffee and look after their customers.
Two complaints to Head office has been met with zero replies or answers.
