Goa-doodle-do serves authentic Goan cuisine that excites the taste buds of any food lover who is out to experience a truly unique style of dining in Brisbane.We at Goa-doodle-do, are a family where the head chef plasters the roof, some friends take time out of their busy schedule to sand a front door, while others worked two jobs to help put the concept together, and more importantly, we are a restaurant that prepares and serves food from the diverse paradise of Goa.
Goa is the smallest state in India, located on the west coast about 600 kms south of Bombay (Mumbai), that like every other state in India - is different. The Portuguese left a huge stamp on the Goans, and apart from the architecture and surnames, they left their mark on the cuisine.
Goa-doodle-do serves authentic Goan cuisine that excites the taste buds of any food lover who is out to experience a truly unique style of dining in Brisbane. The Goan cuisine combines the best of west coast Indian spices and ingredients, with Portuguese flavours.
We have taken a colorful variety of classic Goan dishes and combined them with a selection of 'passed down' family recipes to create our own exotic menu.
The curries are mostly coconut based, and coriander is an ingredient that is used so frequently that it should really be stored in the chef's back pocket.
Seafood is big in Goa, and the people's staple is a coconut based fish or prawn curry with freshly cooked, hot rice. The marrying of the Portuguese Mediterranean culture with the Indian one is what separates Goan food distinctively from the rest of India.

Have been to this lovely restaurant a number of times and have tried several meals, all of which have blown me away with incredible taste and quality. The service is absolutely top-notch. Although the restaurant is quite small, it adds to the homey atmosphere and makes the dining experience much more personal and enjoyable.
PS. The sangria is the bomb. Trust me.
Have been to Goa-Doodle-Do on several occassions and tried quite a few of the dishes. The food is great, quite different to anything I have tasted in Brisbane before. I would strongly suggest the Paella, if you like seafood (you need to pre-order this dish but you will be really surprised by the quality, quantity of seafood and huge taste of this dish).
We have eaten at Goa-doodle-do several times now and it has become one of our favorite restaurants at lunch time near the Mater hospital. Their lunch specials are great, most under $10, and the service is quick. Will be going back for dinner with a group of friends to try more items on their menu and decide if they deserve the "as good as it gets" rating!
It's always hard to find one of those restaurants that you cant wait to get to cause of its yummy food and at the same time you don't want to think about the burning hole in your wallet.

Six of us went for the most finger licking dinner, with flavour that honestly just explodes in your mouth. With entres, mains and a nice cold beer to wash it down, we ended up paying only $160 between us!!! To experience the best food orgasm you have ever had...... this is the place you have to check out.
