Dropped by here for dine-ine on a recent visit nearby I walked away feeling it has lost a little of the value it used to have, and serving sizes aren't quite as big as I remembered.
Having said that, their menu hasn't changed in terms of range - it's a huge range, and taste was still scrumptious, staff had changed but still very friendly - great to see them interact with obvious regulars by name too. Dine-in area hasn't changed at all, it could do with a splash of paint but it sure does look like the 'traditional' Chinese restaurant styled in the 80's which I don't mind as it makes me feel young again ;-)
This is one of the best Chinese Restaurants in the Inner West. Takeaway is available, they also have a local home delivery option. The Special fried rice and any of the "Chefs Suggestions" are well worth trying. If you dine in, the atmosphere is friendly, the staff attentive, and the prices reasonable. Well worth checking out!
We'd been going here for years, and it had been quite good, however we had an absolutely disgusting experience tonight when we were eating in. When we arrived, there was only one other table of customers. We ordered 2 mains, an entree, and some drinks. We had our entree, but more people arrived and we noticed other tables (who had arrived after us!) were being served first.
Then the wait staff tells us that "the chef is too busy" to make one of our mains, so could we please change our order?
It's appalling, we are local to this restaurant and have been loyal for 20 years, but the quality of their service has only gotten worse and worse.
Do not come here unless you are prepared to wait hours, and then want to be told that you can't have half of what you ordered. They do not care about their customers whatsoever.
Re-reviewing this because it's still brilliant & I think the word should get out about it!
Their prices have gone up a little but they're still excellently priced. They've got a lunchtime menu too, serving size is very generous.
Always have a special like free spring rolls if you order $50 worth of takeaway.
But most importantly, their food is delicious. I've got 2 kids who can be fussy & they have never (NEVER!) complained about the taste here. We order from here more than anywhere else!
