The Grand Hyatt Melbourne, located in the heart of Melbourne. Walking distance to the Paris end of collins st and walking distance to good restaurants and shops. Since the renovation, the look and feel is so much better when entering the lobby. Service seem to have improved. Before the renovation the rooms that i have been in really need extra work. Phone lines and internet was out of date and housekeeping service and room service were not to the 5-star they should be. But have improved now, not sure if its new management but service and quality does actually shine through with staff working at front desk and concierge. I have not been into a room since the renovation but friends have and mention the technology has been updated which is good to hear.
Booked for a Queen room for a date night with my partner and on arrival was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a premier room, lovely view and room, very clean and luxurious hotel. The bathroom was plush, TV over the bath and separate shower and toilet. Staff are extremely riendly, helpful and very professional. Exactly what one would expect from a five star hotel. Would definitely stay again. I have also come to the function ball room for work events and it is 5 star hosting and dining experience. They also do an excellent high tea here, so well worth a visit!
