I can’t say that I was really impressed with this place. It sort of felt like it was trying to be a bar that served pub grub but it really didn’t come across that way for me. Sure, the service was pretty good, and the food was okay, but I did find that it was somewhat pricey, which sort of put me off. The thing is that it really isn’t one of those places that I would come to just have a beer, and they really didn’t have a decent selection either. I’d probably just pass on it the next time.
My husband and I have been regulars at The Groove Train for years, along with many of our friends and family. However now we have a young baby we have been made unwelcome. We recently attended for breakfast and were discriminated against by the manager for having our baby in a pram.
We were seated 3 times at different tables, getting up and down each time until eventually we were seated at the front door in the cold with smoke streaming in towards our baby from smokers outside just metres away. The kind waitress explained that her manager had instructed her to move us yet again, to another table. have been a couple of times with my husband and my daughters and their boyfriends. nice atmosphere, the day is better that the night due to peak times being extremely busy but food is good, prices are reasonable. there was a muck up with the order and they apologised and fixed the problem straight away, will be coming back
