Groups for Parents has been developed to help parents enjoy their role and get to know themselves so they can get to know their children. Lyn Benson Psychologist, has been running "The Joy of Mindful Parenting" groups since 2011. Lyn Benson is a Registered Counselling Psychologist and Family Therapist and has been in full time private practice in Melbourne, Australia since 1997. Lyn has extensive experience coordinating seminars and designing and facilitating skills training workshops both for Australian and International workshop participants. Lyn has written and published articles on Buddhist Psychology, Mindfulness, Relationships and Parenting and is committed to working with individuals and families to enrich their lives through the blend of Psychotherapy and holistic practices.
Children learn about themselves by the feedback they get from the people who raise them and the people who are the most significant in their lives. If we are preoccupied by the past or anxious about the future, we are not really "with" our children. These groups help Parents feel confident when they may feel overwhelmed, feel joyous when they may feel defeated and experience support when they may have felt judged.
