I stayed here 8 years ago and then again recently. The Reef View is looking very tired and old nowadays, as are the rooms. It is a good hotel with good swimming, gym, restaurant and wifi facilities but it hasn't aged very well. I am unsure how much of this is to do with the recent cyclone however. When we stayed here we were hoping to get a paid for late checkout and were told this was possible by a member of staff. When it came down to it we were told by another member this was not possible and we were lucky to have been given the extra hour. A few hours later we returned to our hotel to pick up bags to find them still sitting in the empty room we had been told was full and needed. This was quite disappointing. The walls are also very thin and it gets loud on busy Friday and Saturday nights when we struggled to sleep. However, the hotel is a decent place to stay on Hamilton Island, just a bit tired and old for the expense of it.
Great hotel which is actually one of the cheapest places to stay on Hamilton island. The rooms have an uninterrupted view of the ocean, they are large and the bathrooms are clean with a tub and a shower. A very family friendly place. The hotel itself is 25 years old but they have clearly invested into maintaining it and renovating parts. When you stay here you also get free water sport hire at the beach which includes sailing, paddle boards and kayaks!
Love this hotel!! Whilst it is very tall and imposing on the small little island, it has such excellent amenities. Including squash and tennis courts, all non motorised water sports, and a gym. You even have your choice of three locations for breakfast which is the first time I have ever seen this done. We left our curtains open every night to wake up to the most fabulous view.
