We visited for the first time yesterday. We called at 5pm, concerned for our much loved girl and they told us to come straight in. Everyone was lovely and friendly, the vet was very thorough and explained everything really well. We were also pleasantly surprised by the bill -expecting to be charged an emergency fee and having the staff stay back after close time, we were really impressed to find we were only charged standard fees that were much cheaper than other vets we've previously visited. These guys will definitely be our regular vet now. Highly recommended!
My dog recently went to this vet for a lump on his leg, the treatment in my fist visit wasn't great. The reception stuff and nurses were fabulous but the vet not so much, how ever how the owner deal with my complaint was comendendable. The owner took up the complaint with the vet and dealt with that so sustain then took on care of my my boy herself. The issue got worse and he needed surgery. Although she wasn't one that day she organised for a sister vet clinic to do the surgery as soon as I could get him there. I'm happy that he has been looked after well and will be on the way to recovery.
The nurses were friendly and personable with great service, wish I could say the same for the vet before even looking at the issue I actually took my dog in for the fat shaming started. He is on the larger size but he has lost 6 kg in the last 5 months, he is on a diet set by the last vet he saw and we are slowly seeing results. This was not good enough for the vet at Hartley, another diet contradictory to the diet from the last vet was suggested. My dog isn't magic, we can't make his weight disappear over night but we are progressively getting there. The medical advice given about the actual issue which we spent 5 secs on so she could get back to the fat shaming was that they couldn't know what the little lump and that even though I said it was in the exact same place where he had a little cut that was a coincidence, didn't even consider it might be an infection, just had no idea. I received a phone call from Hartley apologising for the treatment of my dog. They explain it was a temporary vet and that they would be taking the situation up with them and addressing it immediately. The owner also took on care of my dog personally and I'm am very happy with how they handle the situation and on going treatment of my boy. He ended up needing surgery as the lump started bleeding from what looked like his pours. I contacted the vet at Hartley who was not on but arrange for me to go to a sister vet clinic that afternoon where he was taken care of immediately. The way they reacted to this situation shows integrity and I will be taking my animals to them in the future.
