Hawkesbury Riverside Tourist Park
Hawkesbury Riverside Tourist Park
Hawkesbury Riverside Tourist Park is located in the rural setting of Pitt Town, within 1 hour drive of the Sydney CBD.
Our accommodation options include self contained riverside cottages and cabins, through to powered sites for caravans and camping.
Our site facilities include a concrete boat ramp to access the river, sandy beach to access the water, grassy picnic areas, swimming pool and laundry.
I camped here for one night. The staff at the front desk did not precisely make us feel welcome. I was treated a as a trespasser for parking in the wrong spot while I checked in. I was assigned a corner camping spot and had to put my car as a barrier to prevent people from inadvertently driving over my tent. Aside from this safety issue and staff "friendliness" all and all the experience was of good value for money.
Me and my partner have travelled from Perth to NSW staying at various caravan parks on our way and this is by far the worst I have been to!! We have a campervan and got a powered site for 30 dollers a night! On the website it shows a nice, clean and tidy riverside location and says there are amenities such as a community room. The site where we were was scruffy and unpleasant, the so called swimming pool with slide was closed - not sure why, the kitchen/community room had a sign on the window saying closed until further notice! I'm not sure how long this had been closed. The microwaves were dirty as were the sinks from what you could see of them as they were full of dirty washing up, there is a pool table in the room which is ripped and a few different sofas and chairs which were absolutely filthy. The windows didn't look like they had be cleaned in the last 12 months and the blinds were falling to bits! The free gas bbqs around the site either had no gas or they ...read more
On first entering the cabin you are greeted by silverfish on the floors, bench tops, shelves, table, and bathroom. A strong odour of smoke fills the air. Dooner covers carried strong odours. Issues with plumbing; water supply not available at all times. When owner was approached you were made feel you were interrupting him from his leisure time. Overall not good. Bring your own insect/bug bombs and all the cleaning products you need. (We had to do this).
Well you will be happy to know traye that their is new management and higher standards at the park now. I was shocked that you had to encounter such a disaster. The park is looking immaculate and we have had nothing but compliments since we started.
Sorry you had a disaster traye when you stayed at the park. The park is under new management and we have had nothing but compliments since we started.
