Well, a pub with an outdoor area. I guess that is going to grab my attention pretty quickly, especially one with an outdoor area like this one. Yeah, this pub has one of the cool ones, though I suspect that it is really trying to capitalise on its inner-city feel. The service here was okay, though I’m not going to say that it was the best that I have experienced, though it was still pretty cool. Oh, and the beer selection was quite good as well.
I have always been a fan on coming here on Tuesday for their uni night which is extremely popular. Recently a friend who lives in the area suggested coming here for dinner. I'm always hesitant about trying new places since I have Coeliac disease and eating out can sometimes prove difficult. This was not the case at the Hawthorn Hotel. The waiter was friendly and attentive and explained the gluten free options on the menu to me. I had the pumpkin salad which was delicious and my friend had the risotto which according to her was on par with my salad! Would definitely recommend coming here.
