On Saturday, 13 May 2012, my friend and I walked up to the bouncers at Hoo Haa to be told we couldn't get in. They said it was my friend who was a too casual - mind you he was wearing a black leather jacket, black shirt, nice jeans and suede shoes. They weren't overly rude but weren't apologetic either. Funny that I saw numerous guys walk in after us wearing t-shirts - one guy even had a beanie and a flanallette shirt. As it turns out our very supportive friends (eight people) came downstairs and we went to a venue up the road. Sorry Hoo Haa, we won't be coming back!
Very cool location with a super swanky interior featuring private booths, as well as lots of space and excellent lighting, which is perfect for a date! Hoo Haa is known for its cocktails featuring a variety of different concoctions but still houses the old faves. While the drinks are amazing, the food can't be overlooked either. Lots of the dishes are European influenced and contemporary. They often do specials on different nights of the week, which are very reasonably priced. I've always had a good meal here and can't complain about anything really. The staff have always been friendly and accommodating; the place is massive so there's generally no problem getting a table. It's a great place to meet for drinks and kick on after, or stay and make use of the dance floor. Fantastic Chapel Street location allows for easy accessibility and finding parking is a lot easier than in the city. Definitely worth a visit!
