Hot Pipis
This was the best breakfast we had on our recent holiday to Mooloolaba, fortunately mid-week and pretty early so nice and quiet. Hubby had the eggs benedict and a coffee, which he was pretty happy with. I had the waffles, which were incredibly rich (so much so that I couldn't quite finish!) but were quite enjoyable. If you have a sweet tooth they will be right up your alley! I can't attest to the rest of their menus but the breakfast is great!
Amongst the many restaurant selections along the Esplanade, we were looking for a well priced venue for breakfast. We came across Hot Pipis when we saw their specials board. We were seated almost immediately and I could see that breakfast here was very busy with the many patrons already seated. So I knew, getting service was going to be a little challenging. Our waiter brought a bottle of water with a couple of glasses and notified us that they'll be right back to take our order. 10 mins went by till she came back and being very apologetic, told me that they were short of staff. Once our order arrived, my eggs benedict looked quite appealing. The serving could have been that little bit bigger but there was ample hollandaise sauce. The waiter was still very friendly even though she was under a lot of pressure. I should have ordered something out of the ordinary as it would have been more exciting.
Hubby and I have dined at Hot Pipis a couple of times for lunch and dinner and always find the meals to be fresh and delicious and a good size serving to fill you up. Highly recommend the salt and pepper calamari for entree and the NZ king salmon in honey soy marinade or the surf and turf for main - delishhhhh. Looking to really indulge? Try out one of their signature cocktails.
Very friendly staff and great location overlooking the spectacular Mooloolaba beach. Definitely the place to dine when visiting the Coast :)
Truly a horrible experience. The service was terrible, the food below average. Dined with a bunch of friends only to have my meal forgotten and delivered after my party was almost done.... And offered no compensation. Not a place I will be going back to ever again. I normally work off a 3 strike rule and this place received all 3 strikes in the one night!!!!!!!!
my husband & dined at hot pipis for many years & enjoyed the food & service so much, since he passed away in march this year I have not been going out much, so I have organised a ladies dining out group among 6 to 10 of my friends & we will be coming to Hot Pipis as soon as we can, can't wait!! my friends & I are mostly seniors & I would like to suggest some specials for us to try different foods at a reasonable price, with the same good food & service of course! Barbara p.s. regards to Joy
