One of few places to have dinner on Bruny, fittingly busy on weekends and in Summer. Not so much on a wintery weeknight, where we had no trouble securing a table by the fire to enjoy a meal. It gets rave reviews for its food which is largely local and reasonably priced. We'd had so much gourmet food on the island it wasn't the standout but still very happy with the visit here. Friendly service too.
One of the only places to eat on Bruny Island, this place was a welcome refuge from the cold and rain. We walked in and it was packed with guest eating dinner. We decided to eat in the bar area rather than wait on a table in the restaurant. We ordered the Tasmanian scotch fillet steak with huon mushroom sauce, roasted veges and chips. I didn't have high expectations but this was a delicious meal! The chips were crispy, the steak was flavorsome and I lived the subtle red wine flavour in the mushroom sauce, the roasted beetroot was a particularly great highlight. The bar staff were friendly and attentive. The steak was $29 which is extremely reasonable!
