Hu Tong Restaurant

Was lucky enough to have a friend bring me here recently...oh my god, so many dumplings and so little time, definitely somewhere I'll be going back to when I head back to Melbourne.

If dumplings are your thing, then this is dumpling heaven! I have never tasted so many different types of dumpling! They are all delicious! Service is prompt and the dumplings are made with high quality ingredients. Try the prawn and ginger dumplings, they are delicious.

ok, i've been to both HU TONG restaurant, and their dumpling bar in the city, plenty of times, I don't know why everyone likes there. but what can i do...



look, i don't know too much about food, average dumpling, great dumpling, i can't tell the difference, i go to a restaurant to have good time, it's the service and environment that are most important to me.

all I want to say to those who wants to go there:

- check your bill carefully. you will be thank me if you did.

- if you find a hair in your dumpling, don't expect a free dish or a discount or a word "sorry"

- check what you ordered. the price is different between seafood pot and a pork pot, you might order the pork, but end up pay $4-5 more for seafood. no biggie, just annoying

Yesterday a friend and I went here for some dumplings - each and every one of them were smooth and the most delicious we've ever had. Thank you for the great time and see you soon.

I have to agreed, the soup dumplings and the chilli dumplings are DIVINE. So tasty, an amazing experience. We have been as couple, small group and as a large group in one of the private rooms. Each time the food is great but the service a little lacking, slow and unattentive. Maybe it will all come together as the decor is modern and tasteful.

But its worth a bit of frustration for those dumplings.... pecking duck, ginger scallops and the other main dishes all great as well.
