Hungerford Hill Wines

There's 2 types of cellar doors in the Hunter: a) Those that are there to provide a great experience through friendly service and commentary on their wines in order to help you choose appropriately, and b) those that are there to show you how expensive and exclusive their wine is.

This cellar door is the 2nd. You have to pay to even get a tasting, and even then you're limited in what you can taste depending on how much you'll pay.

This was especially annoying when part of the reason our party of 8 stopped here was because the winery has big signs out the front "Taste wine and food here". Technically correct but not in the spirit of what they actually do.

One positive for them - they had a kid's table with colouring in activities, which was rare. But we left disappointed.
