These guys were my local go to mechanic, however, recently things have changed, prices have gone up, workmanship has gone down. Shop around there are much better prices out there. I took my car in to have the turbo assessed because the car was loosing power and blowing white smoke. The team at icar refused to check turbo and did an oil change instead without getting my authority. Car continued to blow smoke and lose power. It broke down the next day and now requires a new turbo ($2000). I will be taking icar to the QLD tribunal to have my case heard.
I used to trust these guys but not any more. Just found out that they ripped off my son by about $350 then the next day, the car would not start !! RACQ actually told us to go elsewhere. Have also had all 4 of our cars serviced there in the passed. Told us various problems the car had for its next service and then the other car had the problem and not the car they told us about. A BIT STRANGE
Checked some of the stuff they apparently did, and it wasn't done !! NOT HAPPY AT ALL. They have just lost 5 cars now as a result.
For a service that used to be so good, it saddens me that we now are forced to go elsewhere, along with friends that also used to use the service and are witness to the wrong doings. It has also been advised that they could have tampered !!
Just to clarify. The RACQ did not mention ICAR in any way. They just said if not happy go somewhere else. Which is what we have done.
It was someone else who said they could have tampered. NOT RACQ.
