We hired the Mobile pizza catering for a work function, as my boss swears by this cafe.
Our whole office was totally delighted. The owner of il padrino, Nunzio, personally came out and set up his wood fired pizza oven and began to make pizzas for the hungry masses. Not only was the food delicious, Nunzio provided entertainment with his friendly banter and jokes.
We ate, and ate, and ate! And in true Italian style were told to eat some more because "hava some more pizza! youa too skinny!". The two waitresses he had assisting with our function were absolutely sensational, helpful and funny. Especially when Nunzio started on the dessert pizzas! We all groaned but gratefully accepted just one more slice of chocolatey deliciousness.
We even were given pizza to take home when we simply couldn't fit any more in.
Amazing! Can't wait to go to his restaurant for more... Once i work off this foodbaby. Haha
This is one of those cafes you either love it or hate it. I love it. It reminds me of those Sunday dinners that my Nonno and Nonna had when I was a kid. It is authentic Italian and looks like the decor hasn't changed once in the lifetime of the restaurant. Run by authentic Italians the Pizza is sensational. Lunchtime special on Tuesday is any pizza $13.50 great for a work lunch. If you are after great homely italian cooking this is your place.
Over-rated. We have been to this restaurant a few times. While the pizza is quite good, it was our last experience with the restaurant that has left us warning other people not to go there. We went as a rather large group and was charged for a pizza that we had cancelled (cancellation was accepted by staff, because they forgot about that pizza and we were running late). When we realised that we had been charged for that pizza, she refused to refund the money - then she claimed that the pizza charge was for cakeage. If you do want to go, check your bill before you pay! Otherwise, Perth has many other good pizza places anyway.
