I recently sent my daughters expensive beaded dress to be cleaned at Ipswich Dry Cleaners via one of their collection agents, upon picking it up I was told it was going to be more expensive than was quoted and the dress had been badly damaged. My wife took the dress to their establishment only to be told very rudely that it shouldn't have been dry cleaned and the label stating professional dry clean only was wrong. In some ways I guess I am at fault for assuming they were a professional business. Currently I am in the process of pursuing legal action.
I just called for a quote as I could not find a website any where. The staff was very rude. They asked if my wedding dress can be drycleaned, and I said I am unsure, but either way I was wondering how much it would be, staff said starting from $220 and then I said ok thanks, and staff slammed the phone down.
Hmm, clothes seem clean, but not all is good with this operation. 1. No website for checking prices, services, trading hours, etc. 2. Multiple collection agents (newsagencies) still have price lists from 3-4 years ago, with no mention of the 'service charge' (what extra service?). My bill was 24% MORE than the quote!
Staff who took my call was courteous, efficient and apologetic. They were also able to organise an update e'mail for me and updated prices for the agents of the business :-)
