Jack's Place

The chef at Jack's Place is really good, the food is excellent and I shall be returning. The waiters are very attentive and as we went on a week night, I was even able to have chat to the new owner. Nice guy.

Visited on for Father's day brunch with 6 family members.
After two attempts at cooking over-easy eggs for one person, they finally got it right - at this stage we had been nothing but polite and understanding of the fact that it was busy on Father's day, no fuss was made. Another of our meals of bacon & eggs had a piece of plastic in it, again overlooked. Once finished and ready to pay, these issues were mentioned to the floor management who decided it wasn't worth their time, and served another customer. When asked if they thought their handling of this situation was acceptable they actually smuggly replied 'Yep'. They were told very simply 'well that is disgraceful'. I love this place. They serve the most fantastic pancakes, they are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Absolute heaven! I will never go to the pancake parlor again! Their main dishes are quite generous and delicious, although their coffee is mediocre depending on who makes it. Would recommend to others.

This is my favourite local caf/restaurant. I've had breakfast there, lunch, dinner and sometimes just a coffee. The food is lovely, the atmosphere is unpretentious, laid-back and friendly and the service can't be faulted. The lady who runs the place is truly lovely and has always made me feel welcome as a customer. Highly recommended. :-)
