I'm not sure if this place has changed it's name to P.J. Gallaghars, but despite all the trappings of your good old Irish Pub, it still bares the name of it's forerunner. I do remember coming here a couple of years ago but I have to say I simply cannot remember whether it was an Irish Pub or simply just your normal bar. Anyway, like most Irish Pubs it has your traditional trappings, as well as a good assortment of beers. It certainly isn't one of the cheapest places about, but they do offer lunch and dinner. When I was here is was early Friday afternoon so the back bar was closed, but you were still able to sit in there to eat (especially since the front area was a little crowded). Anyway, wasn't a bad place, but not really the best.
A HUGE pub essentially. It draws a pretty big crowd downstairs and on the weekends has numerous areas with different music. It pretty much caters for everyone. It used to be nice but the place has gotten pretty outdated and grotty. The best thing is the fact they serve pints!
This place has really improved recently and it's most likely to do with the takeover. It's a bit disappointing though that it's not as busy as other bars because of its old reputation. The drinks and the vibe is great, but not one of the best in the area.
