I'm not a big fan on eating sushi, but I have eaten here a number of times. The idea of eating your sushi as a burger is so much more exciting than eating it in a roll. With a number of different sushi burgers to choose from, you'll definitely find yourself coming back. My favourite burger is the chicken one. They're all made fresh on the spot so if you're after take away, it's a little bit of a wait. The pricing for take-away is a dollar cheaper than eating in as you're not paying for the service. The staff greet all customers just like they do in Japan for an authentic feel. Only downfall is the pricing, it's a bit pricy for a small burger, I find that I need to eat 2 in order to get full.
With one of the more curious names for a restaurant in town, Sushi Burger does not serve sushi and burgers. They are in fact 2 discs of packed rice wrapped in a nori sheet with your chosen filling. I chose tempura prawns with salad greens and mayo, each comes with a side of pickled ginger and wasabi. Other menu items are also highly recommended, we chose pork katsudon and fried chicken (think Japanese KFC) and a hot sake on a cold Melbourne evening. Cant wait to go back and try more as I had food envy looking at the next table.
Highly recommended.
This place was nice fast and the food was great. We grabbed some of their sushi burgers for lunch and then took friends back for dinner.
Can't rate the sushi burgers enough (and they're even better if you get them while they're still hot) and the deserts were some of the best I've had for ages... Big thumps up for the daifuku, parfait and black sesame ice cream!
