We have liked having our Jetmaster wood fireplace and a Heat and Glo gas fireplace. But we have only recently experienced how bad the servicing experience is. In our first booking the service person never turned up. When we called to follow up about this a guy from the plumbing company who does the service apologised as he hadn't noted the booking properly and promptly rescheduled for the next day. He then called back to postpone to the following week as a part they needed wasn't available. The following week we expected someone between 8am and 12pm. By mid-morning I decided to call Jetmaster to ensure that a service person would turn up that day. They didn't have a record of the booking and made some enquiries and realised it was a valid booking and said that someone would arrive later that morning before 12pm and they would give me an hour or half an hours notice before arriving. BUYER BEWARE. TWICE attempted to have a double fireplace installed. Worst type of tradie attitude - their time is more important than the customers. multiple cancellations. Finally after much teeth gritting on our part, had the 'authorised' installer advise he would get back to me with a quote. I chased and chased him (!!!) for the quote and got no response. The second attempt with a different JETMASTER 'authorised' installer mucked us around again!!! Multiple cancellations (on their part) then no response at all. Friends had a JETMASTER installed and 3 months in, and they're having problems with it. Judging by the other reviews the poor product quality is consistent with their poor choice of 'approved' installers. From reading these reviews, we are now convinced this is NOT a professional company. We will take our $15k to a smaller, respectable company. I recently called Jetmaster about our fire which had been switching off and on again without warning. It had been problematic since installed, but had gradually got worse (wouldn't always turn on and stay on). The installer explained that this sometimes happens and to just flick the switch on and off.

The first person I spoke to was pretty unhelpful. I explained the fault had existed since first installed but had got worse. I felt it was now a safety issue to my 11 month old daughter (the fire would also turn back on). He didn't really care. I was told it would be $190 for the service call from their recommended plumber PLUS parts. I explained our family couldn't afford this. He said he'd see if they could come up with another option. An excellent experience in the Jetmaster showroom! Russell spent an hour with my husband and me, explaining in detail the pros and cons of various styles of heating options, and demonstrating how everything worked. We really felt we could make an informed decision as to what would be right for our family after this consultation.

Very disappointed with my overly expensive gas fireplace! I thought I was paying a premium price for a premium product but it certainly hasn't met expectations. Installed a year or so ago, and I get annoyed every time I fire it up. I contacted Jetmaster at the time of installation to register my concerns, and found them to be very unhelpful. Firstly, it is difficult to light and takes many minutes to ignite - we can live with that. However, it is also very noisy - sounds like a little flamethrower - not like the ones in the showroom. We were fobbed off with the response that they spoke to the installer who said it wasn't noisy - not exactly an impartial perspective, and no-one bothered to check the installation! Also noted that we did not receive the number of coals stated in the brochure. They took my details and begrudgingly said they'd send out the missing coal, but I wasn't too surprised when it never arrived. Would not buy Jetmaster again.
