Kent Hotel
This is one of the reasons as to why I really try to avoid eating at a pub in Melbourne. Whether it be a gastro-pub or just pub grub, I am generally not impressed. This place is basically no exception. Their offering tends to be rather boring, and over priced as well. Sure, the staff were pretty good, and they do have some decent beers, but since this place is really more a restaurant, there really isn’t any reason for me to come back.
My letter box clearly states “No Junk Mail” on it. It has stopped a lot of junk mail but i still get a few. Normally when i get someone’s junk mail i call them first, because quite often they don’t know the companies they employ to do their letter dropping are doing that. Most are very good about it and take the appropriate steps. Occasionally i’ll get one that tries to deny any responsibility.
But as for The Kent Hotel, you ring them up and it’s impossible to talk to anyone. They only give you two options, press one for the menu or send them an email. Great lively atmosphere. I was here at Kent Hotel for a work dinner. Located in Carlton North, so every close to the city. We ordered a meat platter to share, which had salmon, not something that usually comes in a meat platter that i have had before. So that was good to enjoy as i love salmon. Also to share was the prosciutto pizza, one of the gourmet pizza that looks good, smells good and tastes really good. My main was the pork and lamb served with puree cauliflower. That was so good, that even though i was so full from sharing the other plates, i had to finish my main as i didn't want it to go to waste. Service was good, staff tried their best to be attentive but given the busy dinner nights in december, i could see they were under the pump. everyone else from work very much enjoyed their meals and a few drinks. I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
Despite the fact it says Hotel it isn't but it is a beautiful relaxed restaurant with an extensive wine list and a menu to die for! I can recommend the seafood spaghetti..........lush
The service is exemplary and you cannot fail to enjoy a lunch or evening and would definitely impress a friend or loved one!
Plus plenty of parking what more could you want! Maybe a bed ha ha
