WARNING: King Dynasty Chatswood Westfield staff has impunity from management to ABUSE customers. Unfortunately there was only a few yum cha spots open on this day, and our preferred restaurant Star Capital was closed. Going to King Dynasty has always been a less than fantastic experience due to the unfriendly staff, and lacklustre food, however I have never been so offended as to write a review on their rude behaviour until now. After waiting 1.5 hours for our number to be called, at last a waitress showed me to my table and took my ticket & left straight away. I just started to sit at our table alone, when a waiter and a waitress approached me and aggressively shouted and pointed at me that this is not my table and I needed to get out! The standard here has really slipped. The yum Cha was over steamed, many items were not even offered anymore and the service was slow. When I told the senior staff member at the counter she didn't even seem to care. It was a disappointing experience especially as I had brought friends who hadn't been here before and I was telling them about it.
It's sad when a place that opened up with such great food and service has their standards slip over time.
Under new ownership and management since February, this iconic restaurant in the Westfield complex in chatswood still serves great yum Cha. The staff all wear blue shirts as uniforms so don't be like my friend who wore a blue collared shirt, or people will be waving you down for some dumplings.
The siew Mai was very delicious, the har Chong however was a little over cooked and fell apart as we tried to put it in our bowls.
Lots of choices and quick attentive staff. We came on a weekday at around 2pm and it wasn't very busy.
