L & A was once an iconic store where you could buy quality, reasonable price, and receive professional, knowledgeable and courteous service.
No longer the case going by today's experience: served by a particularly rude, ignorant and unprofessional male, whose idea of customer service (read, getting people to spend money in their shop) was castigating and rebuking a potential customer. Such nice work! Seriously, shop elsewhere.
I've always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. They do have some cheap stuff but they also have some really nice stuff. I have a quite few bits and pieces over the years from here that I'm really happy with. It's made me more adventurous as a cook to know I can get my interesting ingredients the market then get any new equipment needed nearby.
CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL POSTED BY BUSINESS
This business is ideally located near Vic Market and is a great place for a bit of inspiration. Its charm stops there as service varies from apathetic to blatantly hostile. The items are overpriced and mostly of low to mid-grade quality. They do some stock some speciality items but do your homework before buying. There are lots of local baking and cooking shops in every neighbourhood now, I would not rate London & American Supply Stores at the top of the list. Shop elsewhere.
