The overall experience was highly disappointing. In a group of 6 on a week night and the meals took over an hour to come out. No apology made by staff or explanation as to why it took so long. When the meals came out the portion size was a joke considering the price and half of the meals were cold.
The food itself was not terrible however the above factors contributed greatly to the unsatisfactory experience. I will definitely not be a returning customer!
Longbench is a popular cafe on Newcastle's famous coffee strip. It has an outside area which is leafy and open, a semi outdoor area which lets through a nice fresh breeze which is most welcome on a hot summer's day; and an indoor area that is bright, clean and decorated with minimalistic class. The staff members here are very attentive and pleasant...they act and work like they actually enjoy what they are doing, which makes the cafe/ restaurant experience a little more enjoyable. The coffee itself is good - a nice smooth blend- though I do think it was served to me on the luke warm side, however it is well brewed and served with a smile so much that im sure if Id returned it, I would have been made another to my personal preference - no worries! The food is absoultuely scrumptous, I had the chicken wrap - and it had very fresh ingredients which was notable because i went on the forth executive public holiday day (just after christmas).
