Do you have a crush on Maggie Beer? Do you dream about the tastiness of her jams and chutneys? This is the place for you! A quaint little shack on a beautiful river, with peacocks and chickens and everything fun. I left with bags full of reserves and a heart full of happiness.
It doesn't matter how many times you've been to the Barossa, Maggie Beers is a "must stop". There is always something new to try and it is too easy to buy way more than you could ever need. A great place to have a fuss free picnic as it's all provided for you!
When you walk into a store and they greet you with the words "We'd like you to taste everything we sell" then you might imagine you're dreaming. Could be - or more likely you've come here.
Nearly every single product they sell is available for tasting - from the jams to the wines to the pate to the tomato sauce. And it's not like they're standing staring at you making sure you don't take more than half a teaspoonful.
I made some new friends with a whole range of foods here today, though the duck pate would be the one I'd love to keep spending time with!
There's also a really nice outdoor area here, with a pond housing tortoises (or are they turtles?) on one side where you can eat too, and a farm walk on the other side - though it's more of a stroll past some cages to be honest.
Great place for a visit and to take visitors to SA to see some genuine homegrown delicacies.

We started with a tasting round of the products including jams, pastes, olive oil, dukkah. A personal favorite is the salted brandy caramel, good enough ...read more
