This really isn't one of my favourite pubs, namely because it tends to only have the stock standard beers available. Okay, there are pubs around that have a similar selection that I like, but the tend to be few and far between. I guess it has something to do with me becoming somewhat of a beer snob (I tend to like craft beers, and even then only specific ones). The pub has a restaurant, a pokies room, and also a sports bar. In fact the pokies room (and the restaurant) are quite large. Out the back is the smokers cage, and to get in there you have to go through what is in effect an airlock (the only one that I happened to have encountered. I guess the one thing I do like about is that it is located close to Southern Cross station, and isn't as crowded as the Savoy across the road. Oh, and the cash registers show pithy sayings on a screen facing the customer.
This hotel is well located across the street from Spencer Street Railway Station. It is a large venue, well set out pub with a huge bar, good seating area and pokie machines, tv screens around the venue playing every imaginable sport. Attentive and friendly bar service. Kitchen is open 24 hours a day which is very convenient for a meal at any time of the day or night at reasonable prices.
