A small zoo compared to the large city zoos, but also a smaller entry fee than city zoos. The Mansfield Zoo is located a few kilometres out of Mansfield and is well worth a visit if you are in the area. Make good use of their gumboots as it can be muddy. There is both native and exotic animals throughout the zoo, including camels, an alligator, dingoes, ducks, emus, various deers, ostrich, llama, peacocks, monkeys and even lions. We also enjoyed feeding time of the lions, where the owner gives a talk about these magnificent animals, followed by feeding time and a talk about the capuchin monkeys. For a small extra charge you can also get a bucket and spade with some food to feed some of the animals (not the lions of course). Only drinks and ice-creams sold here so grab some food in Mansfield to take with you if you plan your visit around lunchtime.
