Maroubra Seals Sports & Community Club

Once again I was greeted in the most disgusting manner by the very unhappy car park attendant he obviously does not enjoy his job I will never visit this club again as I have never been greeted in such a disgusting manner. After complaining about his behavior club management even called me a liar For complaining about this disgusting treatment

One star is for the large choice of electronic gaming machines including pokies, electronic baccarat, roulette and sic bow. Another star goes to the cheap drinks and membership. Half a star is for the fact that they actually have a restaurant but the rest goes downhill due to the flies that hang around the restaurant, the lack of lounges/comfortable seating and though the renovated outdoor area is a huge improvement, you can't sit out there without choking to death on secondhand smoke! Renovations look good, but they still have a ways to go.

I use to go there years ago went recently looking good with renovations very much needs it. Meals good gym a bit pricey for what it is.

With all the progressive renovations happening at Maroubra Seals club over the past number of years now, the club is now slowly coming together and look more up to date with the rest of the world.

One major example would be the food area. It used to have a very run down, 70s style atmosphere. But now, this area with a slight view of the beach has been transformed with modern fit-outs and furniture.

Sadly, the food area is now sectioned into half, with the dining section now managed by an outside party and now calls themselves Seals Grill & Brasserie. The food offerings are no longer as good value as before, despite still having a few members specials.

Having said that, the food offerings are now more extensive. Apart from the usual steak, schnitzel, and pasta, it now serves Asian inspired cuisines (such as noodles) that are also made to order.

The good thing also, is that the self serve condiments are still there.

I had an awful experience with this club. The functions management was rude and made it extremely difficult for us to hold our function. The dutymanagement rufused to take my phonecalls and the general management was rude and unhelpful. Our function was cancelled by them with less than 48hrs notice. I would never return to this club
