Ive been to Mary's quite a bit in the past and I always thought very highly of it but when I came here over the weekend, I was a little disappointed.
We ordered some food and drinks and the food was quite sloppy (the burger was extremely oily and soggy) and the side dish of gravy was the smallest amount ive seen. My friend and I ordered the BloodyMary for the first time at Mary's and it was super disappointing too. The concept was 'cool' (bacon and cheese) but it was just too intense. Fortunately for me, my ratio was not too bad however the BBQ sauce flavour was pretty intense. My friend though, her ratio was super off so it was a gluggy BBQ sauce drink which she could only have 2 sips of. Not sure what happened to the good Ol' days Mary's where everything used to be on point and people would rave about it for days. Not in a rush to get back here.
When I first entered Mary's, I immediately started to see why it's a popular place. The decor is amazing and the staff are really friendly. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries. The fries are cooked to perfection and weren't oily at all. The burger was delicious too. It wasn't greasy or overcooked.
This is the worst burger joint I've ever experienced. I felt embarrassed to even have this food in front of me. The chicken is so fried and drenched in oil it looks like it's been sitting in the fryer for over a month. The skin isn't event crispy. I managed to peel it off and noticed that it was still slimy and white. GROSS. The cheeseburgers are below average. Slap a beef patty in between two thin slices of burger bread and there you have it. The drinks menu is ridiculous! The waiter was kind enough to let me taste some wine... VINEGAR. You have to be drunk or really high to enjoy this place.
