A large bakery-cafe and was very busy during the long weekend we were there. Rather cramped and food were simple. Menu was quite extensive but not all items were available. There was a daily special menu. Had a few pies and sausage roll ordered. Pies were ok, very soft base and some fell apart when eaten by hand. Prices are not cheap but reminded ourselves that we were helping people build their lives after the bushfires. Aparently, their meat pies are a regular award winners in Aust meat pie competition.
We went to Marysville bakery on a bus trip and had a delicious lunch there. We had either Quiche or meat pie and salad followed by a beautiful Apple slice and Ice cream(the pastry on the slice melted in the mouth).
The staff at the bakery were so helpful and buying food either in the bakery or to take away helps the town of Marysville rebuild itself. There is also a lovely drive up to the are via the Maroondah dam.
