Vanessa has degrees in commerce, social work and law and her work experience in each of these areas, including more than ten years in family law, provides her with a unique mix of commercial, interpersonal and legal skills not often found in a family law professional. The worst experience I've had with a law firm. Don't have money up front, or in credit, they ask you to leave at anytime during an appointment.
I was getting assistance with a relationship settlement. I paid some money up front for assistance in dividing property so that I could receive a lump sum of money. I could not continue to pay upfront thousands of dollars therefore as I was in the middle of a consultation the Lawyer realized that I couldn't pay 2.5k as requested so the Lawyer stood up, shook my hand and explained that they can't help anymore because I don't have funds up front. I was getting assistance with getting a lump sum with which I was going to pay them. Since then I have received emails and phone calls from them along with threats to get debt collectors involved because I owe them about $400 that was accrued through my last appointment in which I was asked to leave. After having paid over $10K, Mathews Family Law also threatened to withdraw assistance as I was behind due to not having received an invoice. Not my fault but it was going to be my problem.
Paying $550 an hour, these guys certainly know how to drag their feet.
Not worth the money or hassle for so called Family Law experts. They promise to help, and then when you get to the table, to basically just agree with the other side. it was mind boggling.
Initial consultation is misleading, and once you sign on, they then only care about the money you start owing.
They'll charge you to read an email response to one of their questions, tell me this is backward?
