Have referred our complaint to Access Canberra and ACCC.

Go to another car yard.

I'd done my research and was ready to test drive on of their vehicles but the salesman refused to let me take it out unless I was sure I wanted to buy it. Isn't the point of the test drive to help you decide if you want to buy the car Buying a car is stressful enough without having to fight to even try the products. Do they think that after I test drive all the other cars that might suit at other businesses I'llfeel like going back to McGuinness just in case? No. Especially not if I have to deal with that man again. Go to any other salesyard down the road.

Hi Bec, thanks for your feedback. We certainly do not condone that sales format and are sorry that you felt that way. One huge part of a salespersons job is qualification of the customer. This is not designed to upset anyone it is designed to sort the actual buyers from those that are merely here to look. Sometimes staff are not experienced in the correct format to ask specific questions. From time to time we have less experienced persons working here. Please feel free to drop back in at any time in the future and mention your experience. We will go out of our way to ensure you are happy with our service.

I submitted an enquiry to a Carsales ad, indicating that the two year vehicle they advertised for more than a new vehicle on the road. I gave my christian name, mobile number and email address.
I got a curt reply from David, with another name before mine, (I guess thought I was someone else), suggesting that I stop wasting my "boses time" and their "money" on my useless enquires. and to "At least have the manners to put your real phone number up"??? Then," by the way", (it was not the model advertised), then "Do you know anyone looking for a cheap one".

I am a retired senior and find it incredible that a Salesman? would send out an email like this, especially after advertising a model that they did not have.

It is no wonder that car dealers get a bad name. They can't even look at the compliance plate to see what they want to sell.

Very pushy salesstaff, wouldn't agree to a test drive unless we said we would 'talk price' afterwards. I wish I hadn't wasted my time - even for a great car I won't put up with that kind of treatment.

Does not come good on promised documentation, have to constantly chase them. This guy gives the industry a bad name. Avoid if possible.
