Mexicali Rose

Great Mexican place with lots to choose from and funky, colourful decor. It was busy and it's good value. The food was quite good overall and they also have some yummy desserts on offer including decadent churros with chocolate.

dined here for diner with my husband and kids on a very hot Monday night (open 7 days), and sat outside under umbrella on street front which was sufficiently cool. thankfully its open Mondays which is a rarity with cafes/restaurants. staff were pleasant but nothing more, not even letting us know of any specials they had on board inside. We don't usually chose Mexican as can be very pricey for what it involves and if not done well is a bit like take away meals. has a large space inside with lots of nooks and cranies with quaint Mexican decor including mosaic on tables and a bar area. had an iced coffee (with artificial cream and ice cream) which was very weak so my husband overed a strong one which was a little better. take away prices can be a fair bit cheaper than dine in prices, more than the usual few dollars? but not always. we had the seafood fajitas $30 ($26T/A) which was small for price and although seafood was tasty enough it was not fresh and scallops soaked in ...read more

The food is delicious. Today I still love it because I have been there heaps of times already because the food is excellent and the service is great.

I can't say anything bad about this restaurant, it's my favourite! The food is delicious and it's in a great area. Personally, i love the vegitarian chimichanga but the whole menu is fantastic! The best mexican food i've eaten in Melbourne by far.

God, I've been going to this place for 20 years! Yummy food - never disappoints. Only downer is it is a bit pokey but the food makes up for it.
