Monkey Place Farm
Nestled at the foot of the Brokenback mountain range in the tranquil village of Broke / Fordwich is their lovely country guesthouse - Monkey Place Farm. The cottage was originally built as a returned serviceman's grant from the Boer War and as such is just shy of 100 years old. It has had many owners over the years and if the walls could talk I'm sure you would hear some fascinating tales. The farm was once a small dairy but is now a part of Fordwich Estate, a 100 acre working vineyard which has produced several trophy winning wines. The entire Estate is positioned on land which was in convict times, occupied by the Blaxland Family. You can still see a small quarry where convicts made bricks to build houses and stables out of the red volcanic clay which now plays host to many plantings of grape vines.
