Montville Cafe Bar & Grill

The food here is really nicely cooked. Especially the lamb shanks - melt in your mouth. The staff are really nice as well and the coffee is great! I have a good experience every time.

My husband booked a table for Valentines Day. We arrived at the correct time and waited while the couple who arrived before use were escorted to the table by the host. Staff was extremely polite to them, offering them a choice of table with a view, carrying their menus for them, explaining the specials and offering water. When staff returned to greet us, the manner was hostile and abrupt. Staff demanded to know if we had a booking, asked my husband to repeat his name several times, depsite it being quite clear (in the end everyone in the reception area knew who we were), literally threw two menus at my husband, dragged us to a table, waiving hand at the specials board on the way past, and left us there to peer at our menus in almost complete darkness - we had the only table without either overhead lighting or a candle. Had one if the worst experiences there. Food was so overpriced and pretty average! The water tasted terrible, their salad is just leaves, and their sweet potato mash tasted disgusting. Lastly, to finish the night a wait staff dropped dirty condiments all over my bag, gave me a serviette and walked off! Overall a terrible and disappointing night.
