Nelson Hotel

What's really cool about this pub is that one one of the mantel pieces there is this large collection of toys. In fact I discovered that one of the patrons started bringing along these small toys one day and placed them on the mantel piece and they ended up becoming a permanent fixture. This is an okay pub but certainly not one of my favourites. It does seem to be a very popular place with the locals, and there was certainly a decent sized crowd in here that last time I passed through. While they do have a beer garden, this place is basically really only for smokers, but they do have a nice semi-outdoor area next to it (which you can't get into from the smoking area – you have to walk around through the main bar). Oh, they also have four pool tables if you like a bit of a game.

My friends and I regularly frequent the Nelo. It is in a good location because it is a bit out of the junction main strip so you don't get all the tourists. It is a locals bar and draws in crowds from every walk of life. They recently re-did the food area too which is super cost with a fire and really open. All the food is amazing, gourmet pub food at acceptable prices. There are plenty of different areas too. The Nelo is just a fantastic all rounder and the staff are tops. Love this place!

best pub food ever! the vibe is mostly tradies during the day (esp. happy hour) but there's a good mix of crowd on the weekend, and they play awesome tunes.

This is a great pub for rugby and also has nice food at a good price. More of a blokes pub, but that works well with the rugby watching.

For a quick bite to eat, you can't go past the $12 steaks. Portions are generous and there are tonnes of sauces and other options. Even better, every Thursday night the piano is rolled out and in an all tiled pub the acoustics are great. Worth a visit.
