This theatre is often confused with the New theatre which is just a couple of blocks away on the same road. The Newtown theatre hosts some really good productions, often directed and acted by locals! My most recent visit was to watch Oscar and the lady in pink which was wonderfully acted and directed! Bravo, bravo! The theatre has tight arse Tuesday performances, where you can have a literary education for as little as $15, I have to point out here that the performances are not always high brow lest you are scared away they are rather eclectic in the genres they show. For instance, you may experience romantic performances, comedy, tragic, trashy and dramatic performances... so the theatre is you oyster. The only aspect of this little theatre i may critic is the fact that its not very accessible should you have a person with mobility problems- there is about two flight of stairs and no elevator.
