I stumbled upon the Nimmitabel Bakery today and was starving, I went in to what looked good from the outside and was not dissapointed. Huge selection of everything and very helpful friendly staff. I stopped just for a pie and walked away with a loaf of bread, two small tarts to surprise my better half, a bottle of water and a pie for $23. I was very happy with the price and the food was great. Running a business in a small town with good staff costs $$$ which I think is often forgotten. Thanks guys.
I was gobsmacked to be charged nineteen dollars for two pies, a bottled iced coffee and a Mt Franklin water. $4.95 for a Dare iced coffee? You are kidding. The playground equipment next door was derelict, the pond is full of scum and the whole place has a badly uncared for look about it. Gone are the halcyon days of delicious venison or roo pies in a Balinese setting. Now it's bog standard fare at royal prices in squalid surrounds. I'll try another shop next time.

Then there is the pastry. They should have used some glad wrap or other plastic to hold the contents cause what I got was about as tasty as plastic. My wife also had an unpleasant experience with a sausage roll. The filling and pastry of this was also as tasty as dog food. Needless to ...read more
