Home Hardware (Ocean Grove) insist on placing stock in hazardous areas. Last week, an elderly family member of mine nearly had a significant fall due to their 'for sale' stock being spread all over the Terrace, just outside their shop. No other retailer seems to do this in the area, and for good reason I'd assume. Whether the council allows it or not, it's simply irresponsible and not community minded. Business benefit only.
My complaints to the store haven't seemed to have had an impact, which is a shame.
Comment seems to have been deleted. Nearly hit by their forklift operating in the public carpark without any warning signs and without blocking the area with tape. Rude and showed no concern at my complaint, were only interested in forcing me to leave the carpark so they could get on with their forklift work (after I left they put up safety tape).
Not a great range of stock at all, and a very narrow store to navigate around. Very frustrating to simply walk around to be honest. Many of their products seem overpriced compared to competing businesses too.
My parents used to shop here too but one of the staff recently told me to move my car from the communal parking area as they suspected I wasn't going to shop in their store (I had a work uniform on). For this reason I think the staff are rude and choose not to shop here.
We have are located between Coles and The post office in the main street of Ocean grove in the heart of town. We have a 700square metre site in the heart of ocean grove. we have won the best store of our size judged by the hardware association of victoria in 2010,2011 and 2012. Our pricing is assisted by being a member of the home hardware group and participating in their catologues. the carpark is a communal carpark for customers which council controls. 2 of my staff have won the employee of the year award for customer service for hardware stores in victoria in the past 4 years.
. I am not aware of my staff ever telling customers where to park and dont understand this. we are carrying a huge stock range at the moment for the size of our store and have opened a 2nd site at the old ocean grove firestation to enable us more retail room and storage.
Stock is overpriced, they also raise prices during the summer period. The management is rude and inconsiderate of locals who keep them in business in the non-holiday season. I refuse to shop here.
