This pub used to have a really bad reputation which is why I have been really hesitant to visit this place, however I decided to come here for a beer on my last couple of trips to Adelaide and, well, okay I wasn't beaten up when I walked in through the door, but it really did not seem like one of those pubs that you simply wonder in there if you are not familiar with the clientelle. What I did like about the place was that it had a HUGE outdoor eating area as well as an outdoor area down the front next to the road. Mind you, one of the bar tenders was somewhat surprised to see me sitting there reading a book because, well, people don't come to this pub to read books. Oh well, there are better places to go to if that is the case.
Love this pub, true local as it gets...
Beautifully unrennovated in terms of keeping with the true pub vibe as many other pokie pubs have, sure they are there but how many pubs these days survive without them...
Live bands on Saturday nights that create a great atmosphere...
Just back from Melbourne and glad to be a regular again after 5 years... Keep doin what you do
What a joke! We went to the front bar for dinner and drinks. Only 2 customers there when we went in. I stood at the bar while 3 staff had a "meeting" for a couple of minutes. When they finished, 1 bar staff disappeared, another went to serve at the TAB and the other who I thing was the management, told me "I don't know how this works out here" and walked off. Just as the person finished at the TAB and finally started to serve me, management came back and started talking to the person again. Disgusted, my partner and I walked out. I wonder if they understand why the bar is empty?
$24 for an averaged size chicken parmy in a pub that smells like old people... This use to be acceptable when they had a salad bar, but this has now been taken away so I will not be going back. Jason M below is spot on! They are just another pub pushing for pokie and drive through revenue.
