Oz Thatch Roofs, Gazebos, Decks

I read about Oz Thatch is Jamie Durie's latest book "Source Guide". Durie swears by them as the best thatch company in QLD. A Brisbane landscape designer, Utopia Landscape Designs, referred them to me as well. After all this build up, my expectations were high when I went out to the display village at Alberton.



Well, an eye-opener to say the least. The Bali huts and African gazebos that this team produce are the finest. You can see that plainly in the craftmanship and quality materials. My concerns about grass thatch rotting after a few years were squashed after I saw their Art Thatch product. This is a new, synthetic grass made to look like alang-alang grass from Bali. It's not 100% natural looking, but the company owner, Scott, tells me it lasts a lot longer.
