Ozzi Kleen Water & Waste

As we are all aware comments left are peoples own personal opinion and these comments do not reflect the majority of the owners of Ozzi Kleen systems, we have sold many thousands of systems and on the most part Ozzi Kleen customers are happy customers, we don’t usually bother to respond to the small amount of complaints that are posted as usually people with genuine concerns will call us for a solution to the problem they are having with their machine.
After all they are just a machine that are Government approved and work very well when the “how to use your machine” rules are followed. Like all machines it is possible that they will break down from time to time and some may have manufacturing teething issues but genuine issues are covered under warranty.

On the most part due to the design of the system your treatment plant is likely to have a lot fewer issues than some of the other systems on the market due to its cyclic operating and robust design. I would like you to keep in mind that these are a sewage treatment system, not a garbage disposal unit. They are a domestic unit not an industrial unit and do require that the users of these systems abide by some basic rules for correct operation.

Any and every problem encountered will have a solution, on the most part the solution is just a matter of training our customers that it is a machine working with a living organism to break down waste and does require that some basic rules are followed or having the unit serviced be a properly trained service technician.

FOG (fats oils and grease) should be scraped from plate before washing them, this is standard common practice for all systems as the calorific content of FOG is so high that the bacteria have to work for a long time to break it down due to its high energy content. The systems are designed to deal with a normal amount of FOG which is 75mg/litre. Pouring FOG down your sink could also block your house pipework over time and you may require a plumber to then remove the build up from your pipes. Even the council do not recommend putting FOG into the municipal sewer. This could cause the decanter to become blocked.

Many of these problems can be easily solved slightly changing the habits of washing things down the sink and understanding what should and shouldn’t be introduced to the sewage treatment system.

It is also important that these units are serviced by a professionally trained service technician and that your technician is Green Card accredited. The Green Card is an Ozzi Kleen certified card that lets you know that your service technician has been Ozzi Kleen trained and understands the correct operation of an Ozzi Kleen system. These courses train people from all over Australia and abroad and it is suggested that you ask your service technician to show you their Green Card at the next service. If your current service technician does not have a Green Card and you need the name of a trained service technician then I would suggest giving Ozzi Kleen head office a call. The recommended service technician may not be Ozzi Kleen employed staff but one of the many Ozzi Kleen trained service technicians.

There will always be a percentage of people that will be unhappy with a particular product regardless of how good it is due to a bad experience they have encountered. Of the roughly 20,000 Ozzi Kleen systems sold since 1983 there has been very little customer dissatisfaction.

Your pump is covered by an industry leading 3 year warranty so if it is a pump failure issue then it would have been covered under warranty if you had contacted us. The decanter issue can be easily fixed once the problem can be identified.

Readers of Tru-local - See that Ozzi Clean have made several replies to my original post (Do not get an Ozzi Clean Sewage treatment plant...). Note that almost all of them lay the blame back on the owner or require you to pay for their 'specially trained' technician to come out. They will tell you it's because of something you have put into the plant - too much fat, too much detergent, someone taking antibiotics (I kid you not). It's sort of like "Kenny the Plumber" - except it's not funny. The treatment plant has a fundamental problem with the floater box, which clogs up, and requires constant maintenance. There are plenty of other sewage treatment plants out there – do yourself a favour and buy something else.

Just to add another comment. I live in the Adelaide Hills and know another two other people who have the Ozzi Kleen product. They have exactly the same problems as me, so I very much doubt whether there are 1000s of satisfied customers out there.
