Two days ago I went shopping for groceries to the green grocer shop at the fair. All good until I had to leave. On my way to the car with my trolley of greens stuff purchased at the shop, I was rather rudely stopped by a young man, an employee of the shop, who demanded, "you paid for all this?" I was astounded. In all my years of shopping, I have never been taken for a thief. I showed him the receipt lying on the top of the stuff I bought. He examined it, said rather rudely "sorry", and I wasn't sure why he was sorry, it appeared to me that he was more sorry that he didn't catch me in the act rather than for his own actions. Oddly, the personnel working the cash registers, don't give you a receipt unless asked for it. Don't listen to them. Take the receipt or you'll be in trouble. Like me you could be apprehended and who knows what might happen. I returned and told the woman at the cash register what happened, she said she never served me, instead asked me to check ...read more
The gazillion dollar makeover on PAC Fair is amazing.
Finally some high end boutiques that you don't need to go to Surfers Paradise or Brisbane for... if that's your thing!
Unfortunately it feels like it's catering totally to the high end tourist market and not the locals.
Great for a browse, a movie or a meal but not so great to find a reasonably priced everyday outfit.
I have been on the Gold Coast for 43 years and have seen many changes Pacific Fair was really the only major shopping centre on the Gold Coast when it was built I have fond memories as a child of getting dressed up just to go there for the day and riding on the train I remember meeting Wally Lewis at the iconic McDonald & East and shopping at Diamaru. Then as a dance student at Miami High School performing under the renowned Big Top. Now in 2016 a major overhaul has transformed the once humble shopping centre to a first class designer shopping precinct. Whilst the centre looks amazing and has many architectural design features the feel of the shopping there has changed for me . Gone are the middle price range women's fashion stores and that carefree style of shopping and choice. For me Robina shopping centre will now be my local providing a huge range of stores from budget to high end and providing shelter on raining days In summary Pacific ...read more
Expensive shopping!!! Park at your own risk at Pacific Fair. I had my number plates stolen while shopping. Security disinterested, didn't even want to see what and where happened. No report of theft. No cameras or security in parking lots, thieves can roam freely. The centre management didn't even respond to my complaint. The least they should do is to refund the cost of replacing the number plates. After all, they are responsible for what is happening on their property. Not a pleasant experience to come back to your car and to find out that someone stole your number plates including the screws!. I reported it to police, that's it. Next time you visit Pacific Fair Shopping Centre bring your screwdriver with you and keep your number plates in your trolley watching them at all times. Who knows what can happen?!
